Why is my old caulk turning black?

Black stains are usually mildew growing behind or inside the caulk. This happens when the seal fails or low-quality caulk was used. We remove it completely and use mildew-resistant 100% silicone.

Do you remove the old caulk first?

Yes, absolutely. Applying new caulk over old caulk rarely lasts. We mechanically strip the old sealant, clean the joint with solvent, and apply a fresh bead for a perfect seal.

How long before I can use my shower?

With modern silicone formulations, many showers are ready for water in as little as 30 minutes to 3 hours. However, for best results, we often recommend waiting 24 hours to ensure a full cure.
